Basic Description: The Clip Operation removes all of the data from outside the specified range and replaces those values with the minimum or maximum values. The clipping range must be specified in data units (nT, mS, db, etc.). Clipping the data can improve contrast and allow you to see the histogram better. Improving contrast can also be accomplished, without actually modifying the data, using the Contrast Slider Bars in the Survey List.
Technical Details: All values below the minimum are replaced with the minimum value. All values above the maximum are replaced with the maximum value
Instructions: After choosing a selection method and making your selection on the survey, enter parameters in the following order (go to each section for details):
Clip Range
Enter minimum and maximum values in data units. In this example, used for Magnetometry data, the data are clipped from -2.5 to 2.5 nT. All values less than -2.5 nT will be replaced with the value -2.5. All values greater than 2.5 nT will be replaced with 2.5.
