Basic Description: Standardize converts data into standard scores so that they are on the same scale as other datasets. This is helpful to do between surveys before combining them, or between the tiles of a single survey to facilitate matching.
Technical Details: Standardize transforms the values in the survey to Z-values in a normal distribution. That is, the transformed values report the number of standard deviations the value is from the original mean. The mean of a standardized image is zero. If by survey is chosen, the values are standardized based on the means and standard deviation of the entire survey. If by tile is chosen, the values in a given tile are standardized based on the mean and standard deviation of that particular tile.
Instructions: Choose a mode and run the operation. If you choose "by survey", then each band in the survey will be transformed to stadard scores so that they are on the same scale and can be integrated using the band calculator and other methods. If you choose "by tile", each tile within each survey will be standardized. This is similar, but not the same, as the zero-mean-grid function found in other archaeogophysics data processing software.
